About HWAM
HWAM A/S is one of Denmark’s largest producer of architect-designed wood-burning stoves.
For 40 years, HWAM has designed and produced modern, high-quality wood-burning stoves with several patented advantages – first under the name, ABC and today under the two brands, HWAM and WIKING.

The company was founded by Vagn Hvam Pedersen in 1973 and is owned and run 100% by the Hvam family. Sons Stefan and Torsten have followed in their father’s footsteps and are today in charge of the company, the former as the Managing Director, the latter as Head of Research and Development.

Collaboration with Known Designers
According to Vagn Hvam Pedersen, one of the reasons for HWAM’s great success is that the wood-burning stoves are both beautiful and functional. Today, a wood-burning stove is something more than just a heat source. For HWAM, design, aesthetics and function are three sides of the same coin, so to speak, and this is the reason behind the company’s 40 years of collaboration with visionary architects and designers.

Made in Denmark
HWAM is based in Hørning, just south of Aarhus, where technology and solid craftsmanship unite. Around 80% of the stoves are exported to clients in all of Europe, with Germany as the principle market.

”When the business is one’s own, and one has himself as entrepreneur built it from the ground up, he acquires a very special feeling for the employees, the business and the products. One must go the extra mile to make things work,” says Vagn Hvam Pedersen.

Despite HWAM’s huge success, we are not considering moving production abroad as many other companies are doing these days.

Vagn Hvam Pedersen explains, ”It is both my conviction and experience that it is much better, quicker and cheaper to produce in Denmark. If one is capable of using his resources optimally, he will always be competitive.”

HWAM A/S er en dansk familieejet virksomhed og en af Europas førende brændeovnsproducenter. Siden 1970’erne har kernekompetencen været udvikling og produktion af brændeovne i et innovativt design og af høj kvalitet. Udvikling af den reneste og mest effektive forbrænding har altid haft høj prioritet.

I dag producerer HWAM A/S ca. 25.000 brændeovne årligt, hvoraf 80% eksporteres til kunder i hele verden.
